Meet the Founder

"A jack of all trades is a master of none..." For generations, society used that phrase to box people into narrow specializations. But they forgot the second half of the original couplet: "...but oftentimes better than a master of one."

With the dawn of Artificial Intelligence, the paradigm has broken completely. AI has officially made the Jack of all trades a Master of all.

I am Sam Roy, one of the founders of Operio. I’ve been dreaming of this digital frontier since I first read Isaac Asimov as a kid, and since my first interactions with ELIZA, the world's earliest chatbot. I’ve lived my life as a classic hacker—the type Eric S. Raymond wrote about in The Cathedral and the Bazaar. I am a modern Renaissance man who believes that complex systems should be demystified, decentralized, and democratized.
